Our mission is to empower individuals to embrace a "victim to victor" mindset through the creative and unique programming we offer. With this vision in mind, we are determined to reshape Kensington's narrative, transforming it from the 'Walmart of Heroin' to a place renowned as the capital of healing. This is our collective dream and mission, and with your help, we can make it a reality.

We provide services at no cost to our program participants., with no-cost to low-cost housing initiatives, providing recovery housing to the homeless population of men and women who are active drug users living on the streets or returning from residential treatment or incarceration, regardless of our clients’ time commitment or financial means. Embracing a "victim to victor" mindset, we stand resolute in our commitment to transforming adversity into victory. In its day-to-day operations, First Stop is run by a small group. His wife Alice, who everyone calls "Mom," has stepped up to run the program since Frank's passing. Dr. Tony helps on weekends. Richard and Fred, who have been through the program and are now sober, pitch in about twenty hours a week.
